Zhiyun Weebill 3 – Everything NEW for 2022

Today, we are taking a look at the brand new Zhiyun Weebill 3, and it’s exciting because it is a complete redesign from the Weebill 2 gimbal. Zhiyun has really listened to feedback, and pretty much every feature on here is a direct result of what people were saying about the Weebill 2 and what they wanted for the next gimbal. In this article, we will discuss the price, weight, size, and features of the Weebill 3, as well as one mind-blowing feature that sets it apart from other gimbals on the market.

Price and Packages

There are two ways you can purchase the Weebill 3: the standard package priced at $449 and the combo package priced at $529. The standard package includes the gimbal itself, the dual plate quick release system, cables for control, and an older style container. The combo package includes the handle, wrist plate, tripod, and all the accessories included in the standard package, except for the bag. Although the bag was not included in the package sent for review, I highly recommend getting the combo package for the additional accessories.

Weight and Size

The weight and size of the Weebill 3 are quite impressive. The gimbal alone weighs only 1.1 kilograms or 2.4 pounds. With the added tripod, handle, and wrist plate, the total weight is 2.43 pounds or 1.24 kilograms, which is remarkably lightweight for a gimbal of this size. Despite its small size and weight, the Weebill 3 can easily handle a decently sized camera, such as the Sony A7S III with a 24-70mm G Master lens.

Balancing the Gimbal

Balancing the Weebill 3 is a simple and quick process thanks to the axis locks. The gimbal’s plate system allows for easy attachment and removal of the camera without the need to rebalance. To balance the gimbal, start by adjusting the camera position according to your desired shooting style. Unlock the appropriate axis, move the camera until it balances, and lock it in place. Repeat this process for each axis, ensuring the camera is exactly how you will shoot it. Once balanced, you can easily detach and reattach the camera without re-balancing.

Design and Features

The Weebill 3 boasts several design and feature upgrades that make it stand out. The grip size has been reduced, making it more comfortable to hold for extended periods. The redesigned quick release plate allows for quick and precise attachment of the camera. Additionally, the Weebill 3 introduces a wrist plate, which enhances stability and control during handheld shooting. These design improvements ensure a better shooting experience overall.

In terms of features, the Weebill 3 offers a range of new capabilities. One notable feature is its ability to handle underslung mode smoothly. The top handle and wrist plate make it easier to achieve this shooting angle, adding versatility to your shots. Furthermore, the Weebill 3’s motor performance and responsiveness have been enhanced, providing smoother and more stable footage.

Overall, the Zhiyun Weebill 3 is a game-changer in the world of gimbals. With its compact size, lightweight design, and impressive features, it offers a superior shooting experience. Whether you are a professional filmmaker or an aspiring content creator, the Weebill 3 is definitely worth considering for your next gimbal purchase.
