Hello everybody and know you’ve not gone mad, you did read the title of this video right. I’m gonna do a video all about my photography office, and I appreciate that is potentially a bit of a dull topic, but for me, this room is what’s incredibly exciting.
To give you some context as to why it’s exciting, particularly if you’re a new viewer to this channel, before I lived here in this house, I lived in an apartment in the middle of Manchester. It was a very nice apartment to live in, but it had its drawbacks. There was a skyscraper being built next door, and the apartment was made almost entirely from glass, which made it very echoey.
Now, let’s dive into the details of my photography office. Starting with my desk, it’s from Ikea and has some drawers and a little cupboard where I can store away all my paperwork. I have a 15-inch MacBook Pro connected to a Dell monitor. I don’t see the need for anything fancier as this setup works perfectly fine for my work.
I also have some hard drives, speakers, a mouse, and a keyboard on my desk. I keep some essentials, like a notepad, a candle with a lovely scent, and a pencil holder filled with writing utensils. The lightbulb in my desk lamp is adjustable, which adds a nice touch to the room.
Adjacent to my desk are shelves that I recently installed. I’m not entirely confident in their durability, so I’ve kept the weight on them light. I have one book, a succulent plant, and a photo I took in Australia displayed on these shelves.
Above my desk, I have a map of the world that I use for trip planning and inspiration. To address the echo in the room, I’ve hung a blanket on the wall with nails. This serves as a temporary solution to soundproofing while maintaining the room’s aesthetics.
