Introduction
Insta360 sent over their brand new one rs modular action camera. We got a new core mod, a new 4k mod, a brand new battery, new housing in general, and of course the 360 mod. Today, I’m going to test this camera out and show you guys what it can do. Insta360 also sent over a dune buggy for us to test with the camera. Thank you Insta360!
Testing the Camera
Let’s see what this thing can do. Insta360, thank you very much for the RC car. However, I think I can do better. This is better than an RC car. Glamis dunes, let’s see what this thing can do.

First Look at the Insta360 ONE RS
Now, let’s talk about the Insta360 ONE RS. We’re doing a first look at this camera. We’ll check out everything that’s new with it, go over some pros and cons, and do a little bit of a comparison with the original Insta360 1R.
One of the first things that a lot of people are going to wonder is if the original mod parts work with the new mod parts. The answer is yes, which means that the original one-inch sensor with the Leica lens will work with the new camera. You can also swap out the old 360 mod, as well as the old batteries.
Let’s talk about the new 4k boost lens, which is the heart of the camera. It has a half-inch sensor, which improves low-light performance. It can shoot up to 6k in widescreen video and capture 48-megapixel photos. The photos that come out of this camera are incredibly detailed and vibrant.
The new 4k lens also features new active HDR for sports and an improved aperture of f/2.4. The field of view is slightly wider, and the camera performs better in low-light conditions. The overall performance of the camera is snappier, thanks to the new processor in the core mod.
Improved Stabilization and Microphone
The new core mod also comes with improved in-camera flow state stabilization, eliminating the need to offload files for stabilization. It supports up to 4k 60fps video, with built-in slow motion capabilities. Additionally, there are now three microphones, with the top microphone specifically designed for wind reduction. This is especially useful for those using the one-inch mod. The new battery is slightly thicker, but it provides 21% more battery life. However, the old batteries still work with the camera.
