How can we find peace when confronted with the inevitable end of life?
As humans, we are no strangers to the concept of an ending. From the closure of a book or a movie to the end of a relationship or a job, we have learned to navigate the complex emotions that come with bidding farewell to a chapter in life. However, one ending that continues to perplex and provoke profound contemplation is the end of life itself. Death, the ultimate closure, leaves us grappling with questions about existence, purpose, and the search for peace in the face of our own mortality. In this blog, we will explore various perspectives and delve into ways we can find solace and acceptance when confronted with the finality of our journey.
The Journey of Frono’s Photo
When Frono started Frono’s Photo in 2010, he didn’t have a studio nor his own place. He relied on his brother’s old room and his dad’s backyard to create the majority of his videos. Thanks to Allen at Allen’s Camera, he also had a home away from home to make videos. In those early days, Frono focused on creating raw and short videos, vlogging before vlogging became a thing. He didn’t have the desire to have his own space as home was safe, easy, and free.
Moving into Philly
In 2012, Frono decided to leave home and moved into Philly. He rented a 2600 square foot loft, which some of his lady friends affectionately referred to as the “panty dropper”. For the next year, Frono lived and created hundreds of videos in that space.
The Search for a Permanent Space
After his lease ended, Frono started looking for a place to buy, where he could create his own studio. Despite a long and arduous search (or rather, making an offer on the very first place he looked at), Frono found a place. Although he was short on the down payment, the release of his “Frontos Photo Guide to Getting Out of Auto” helped him make the payment and more.
Loft Number Two Era
This led to the Loft number two era, where Frono once again lived and worked in the same space. Initially alone, Stephen joined him part-time and later full-time. They utilized every nook and cranny of that space to create various content, including podcasts, portrait shoots, critiques, user guides, and more.
Time for a Real Standalone Studio
By 2015, with two full-time employees coming to Frono’s house every day to set up shoots and break down sets, it was time to consider a proper standalone studio. That’s when Frono discovered the Fro Factor, a raw shell of a building with immense potential. They no longer had to dismantle sets daily and could build the studio as they wished.
The Fro Factory
Over the past seven years, they transformed the Fro Factor into the Fro Factory, a place where they felt like they were running a real business. The studio had diverse sets, including the photo news set with a backdrop of vintage cameras and signs, the store set for reviewing gear inside a camera store, comparison and user guide sets, Frono’s actual working desk set, and various other sets created for specific videos.
Achieving Success in the Fro Factory
The Fro Factory allowed Frono to establish a clear separation between home and work. It provided a solid foundation for their successes, allowing them to accomplish so much in what feels like a short amount of time. Frono reflects on the amazing journey he has had as a YouTuber, starting from his backyard to the first Loft, then the second Loft, and now onto the new amazing space with endless possibilities.
The Future and Endless Possibilities
As Frono moves onto the new space, the possibilities are endless. Only time will reveal what they will do with this exciting opportunity.
