However, my extensive travels as a professional photographer and filmmaker have led me to reevaluate my gear choices. Carrying multiple prime lenses on my travels has become impractical, especially when it comes to checking them in during flights. That’s why I’ve been considering getting a versatile zoom lens that suits my travel needs. In this review, I will be sharing my thoughts on the relatively new Tamron 35-150 F 2.8-4 lens and whether it could be the perfect travel lens for me.
The Lens Choice
While researching zoom lenses, I came across recommendations for popular choices like the 24-70 or 24-105. However, a friend who works at a camera store introduced me to the Tamron 35-150 F 2.8-4 lens, which I had never heard of before. As someone using EF mount cameras, it made sense to stick with EF lenses that I could use on both my EOS R and Blackmagic Pocket 6k. Initially, I was skeptical about this lens due to its zoom range and variable aperture, but the positive reviews prompted me to give it a try.
Sharpness
