Currently, the A7C II is priced at 3499 Australian dollars, while the A7IV is priced at 3599 Australian dollars. Considering the A7C II is a hundred dollars cheaper, it is necessary to examine whether it offers fewer specs or better value.
Image Quality and Ergonomics
Both cameras have a 33-megapixel sensor, which downsamples to 4K for excellent image quality. However, let’s first talk about the differences in ergonomics and design between these two cameras.
The A7C II has a 2.36 million dot Electronic Viewfinder (EVF), while the A7IV boasts a higher resolution with a 3.69 million dot EVF. Though some may not like the lower resolution on the A7C II, it is still functional and comparable to other cameras in its range.
In terms of port options, the A7C II only has a single SD card slot, which requires a V90 card for filming in 4K 60 frames per second using the All Ico deck. On the other hand, the A7IV comes with dual SD card slots, including the Taipei card slot, known for its reliability and faster performance.
