What is up people Donna here and today we’re here to talk about one of my favorite lenses for the Sony APS-C system – the Sigma 16 millimeter f 1 point 4 DC DN. Quite a mouthful, I think I might have to end the video now or it’ll get too long… just kidding!
The Build Quality
One of the first things that you notice when you get this lens is the build quality of it. It’s made out of mostly metal and the focus ring has a rubber grip on it, which is super nice. It’s smooth, feels really good, and has a little bit of weight to it, making it feel better and crafted.
The Sharpness
One of my favorite things about this lens is the sharpness. As expected, if you’re shooting at f/1.4 to get that nice bokeh or shallow depth of field, there may be some sharpness loss on the edges. However, once you stop it down to f/4, f/8, or f/11, it is sharp all the way through the frame.
Uses of the Lens
This lens is great for architecture and landscape photography, as well as portraits. Despite its wide-angle focal length, it can still capture stunning portrait shots and add a unique perspective. It is versatile and can be used for a variety of photography styles.
Tips for Non-Stabilized Cameras
For cameras that don’t have in-body stabilization, like the Sony a6000 and a6300, there are a few tips to ensure stability.
