Is Generative Fill Really Going to be Paid?
Generative Fill will start being paid from November 1st. Every time you use Generative Fill or Generative Expand, it will count as one Generative Credit. As a paid subscriber on the Creative Cloud, you don’t have to pay extra for Generative Fill. The amount of Generative Credits you get depends on the Creative Cloud plan you’re on:
- Full Creative Cloud plan: 1,000 generative credits per month
- Single app plan (e.g., Photoshop only): 500 generative credits per month
- Creative Cloud photography plan: 250 generative credits per month
If you join after November 1st, you will only receive 100 generative credits per month. These credits cannot be carried over to the next month.
If you run out of credits, your generations may take longer during peak times when the servers are busy. However, Adobe will not charge you extra for it. You also have the option to purchase more priority credits for $5 a month for 100 credits.
Has the 1024×24 Limit Been Removed?
The 1024×24 limit has been increased but not completely removed. It is now limited to 2k, which means images cannot exceed 2,000 pixels in width or height. If the selection is larger than 2,000 pixels, the image will be stretched to fit, resulting in soft or low-resolution patches. When working with blocks smaller than 2,000 pixels, the resolution will be the same as the original image.
Can I Remove the Beta Now that Generative Fill is in the Main Version?
Yes, you can remove the beta version of Photoshop if you only wanted Generative Fill.
