Neewer LiteTrip 35 Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod Review

Hi, I’m Dustin Abbott and I’m here to give you a review today of one of the maybe more accessible and less expensive travel tripods that come in a carbon fiber design and that is from Neewer. Neewer is very popular on places like Amazon with a lot of different products that are a little bit more friendly in terms of their price point than what some of the more boutique brands offer. So, this is the LiteTrip 35 Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod. It retails right now for about $215, but there is an instant $50 discount right now so that puts it at about $165. When you consider the fact that some of the carbon fiber travel tripods that I reviewed have been upwards of $600, that stands out as being a pretty remarkable value, being three to four times less than what those cost. The question, of course, is if this tripod is worth using. I’m going to dive through its various features sets, give you some things that I like, some things that I don’t like, and offer up a conclusion as to whether or not you should consider the Neewer LiteTrip 35 Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod for your own personal use. Let’s dive in.

Specs Overview

This tripod weighs in at 2.2 lb, that’s 1130 grams, so it still feels very lightweight. It can support up to a 22 lb or 10 kg payload, which is impressive for its size. When it’s fully retracted, it goes as small as 19 inches, that’s 49 cm, and its minimum length allows you to go down low for macro or tabletop work. The included QR plate is ARCA compatible and Peak design products compatible as well. The ball head is fully removable and replaceable, and the tripod comes with a number of accessories including a padded case, a short center column, a phone holder, and a separate Panorama head for smooth panoramic shots.

Compatibility Testing

I tested the Arca compatibility of the tripod head and found it worked well with Peak design plates and some other brand plates. However, there were issues with ARCA compatible feet on certain lenses. While it is ARCA compatible, it may not work with all accessories, so caution should be taken when using non-Peak design or non-specific plates.

Overall, the Neewer LiteTrip 35 Carbon Fiber Travel Tripod offers great value for its price point, with a sturdy build, lightweight design, and useful accessories. While there are some compatibility issues to be aware of, it is a solid option for those looking for a budget-friendly carbon fiber travel tripod.
