My Updated Photo Editing Workflow – Lightroom + Luminar AI

Hey everyone today I want to share with you my updated photo editing workflow. This is what I do to an image from beginning to end to get it ready to post online, to share it in my videos, to post on Instagram, and to send to clients. My current workflow includes using Lightroom and Luminar AI to edit my photos. This video is sponsored by Luminar AI, but this has been my genuine workflow for the last six months or so. Many of the videos that you’ve seen on my channel recently have been edited using this process. So, I thought I’d share it with you guys because I’ve been really enjoying using this and I want to share with you some new techniques that I found in Luminar AI that you can use to edit your portraits with.

Editing in Lightroom

This is a photo set Dan took of me about a month ago when we had these beautiful autumn colors in Sydney. The photo was taken on the GM 35 1.4 lens. I like to use Lightroom to edit the colors of my photos. For this one, I think I’m going to go with a warm aesthetic to complement the autumn tones. I’ll bring down the exposure a bit, and once I’m happy with the edit, I’ll right-click on the thumbnail and select “edit in Luminar AI.”

Using Luminar AI as a Plug-In

When opening the photo in Luminar AI as a plug-in from Lightroom, I set it to TIFF, sRGB, 16 bits, 300 resolution, and no compression. This allows for seamless integration between the two software. The main focus when using Luminar as a plug-in is the skin retouching. I like to smooth out my skin a bit, remove blemishes, and adjust any imperfections.

Editing in Luminar AI Standalone

If you prefer to edit using Luminar AI as a standalone software, you can achieve similar results to Lightroom. The software offers templates and a wide range of editing tools, including temperature, exposure, highlights, shadows, tone curves, and more. The Enhance AI feature is particularly useful for balancing out shadows and highlights in your photos.

Overall, using Luminar AI alongside Lightroom has streamlined my photo editing process and allowed me to achieve professional-looking results quickly and efficiently. Whether you choose to use it as a plug-in or as a standalone software, Luminar AI offers a user-friendly interface and powerful editing capabilities that enhance your photos in just a few clicks.

So, next time you’re editing your photos, consider incorporating Luminar AI into your workflow for a seamless and efficient editing experience.
