For a long time, a group of photographers had this idea to do a photo shoot inspired by one of their favorite movies, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Thanks to Intel and their 8th generation Core i7 processor, they were able to bring this dream shoot to life using their HP folio laptop.
Partnering with Intel and HP
Intel partnered with the photographers to help make this shoot happen and keep them connected throughout their trip. In order to pull off the shoot, they needed to fly to New York where the movie takes place. But first, they had to secure their models. After texting their friends Katie and Joe, who were up for the task, they booked their flights at LAX.
To ensure a safe and fast internet connection, the photographers avoided the sketchy public Wi-Fi at the airport and instead connected to the internet with their integrated gigabit LTE SIM card. With this setup, they were able to stay connected and focused on their photo shoot.
Capturing the Eternal Sunshine Vibe
Once in New York, the photographers settled into their Airbnb and watched Eternal Sunshine one last time on their Intel-powered laptop. With 14 hours of battery life, they knew they could rewatch it several times if needed.
The next morning, their models Katie and Joe arrived, bringing hugs and cool hats. They went over the mood board and prepared their Intel-packed PC, which would prove invaluable during locations with no Wi-Fi. Their goal was to mirror the dream-like feeling of the movie in their shoot.
To create a sense of disassociation, similar to when memories are being erased in the movie, the photographers used various techniques. They introduced atmospheric haze, applied coconut oil on a cheap filter in front of their lenses, and shot through translucent PVC paper.
A Dreamy Shooting Experience in Montauk
After finalizing the apartment location shots, the team embarked on a two-and-a-half-hour drive to Montauk. Before starting, they enjoyed a delicious lunch at a little-known Mexican joint. Once in Montauk, they made the best of the weather, even though it wasn’t overcast and dreary as they had hoped.
The photographers directed their models to capture the essence of the movie. They had them run towards the camera, spin around, and portray a range of emotions. The day ended at the beach, where they captured candid shots with the sun lowering in the sky.
To ensure the safety of their photos, the photographers backed them up on their portable, powerful PC. While the others warmed up in the car, one of them edited the photos on the way back to the city. Using the LTE connection, they instantly shared a sneak peek on Instagram.

Finally, the photographers expressed their gratitude to Intel for sponsoring this dream shoot.
