The M11 boasts a 60-megapixel backlit sensor and Maestro three processor, making it a powerful camera. While it may not have all the features on everyone’s wish list, such as weather sealing and integrated EVF compatibility, I believe it is still worth investing in. In this article, I will discuss my reasons for purchasing the M11 and share my excitement for this new addition to the Leica M series.
Why I’m Buying the Leica M11
First and foremost, I have been eagerly awaiting the release of the M11 for several years now. After selling my M8 in 2012, I have been patiently waiting for a worthy successor. I came close to purchasing the M10D and M10R as companions to my SL2, but ultimately decided to wait for the M11. Now, the time has come, and I have already placed my order. Here’s why:
The Perfect Photographic Companion
For me, a Leica M is more than just a camera. It represents a culmination of my personal photographic journey. It’s a modern-day version of my childhood experience with photography. The Leica M serves as a vessel of human history, a lens through which I experience the world. It whispers to me, encouraging me to do better and make my work count. The M11 is another step in this journey, allowing me to further explore my passion for photography.
Incredible Resolution
The M11 offers significantly more resolution compared to its predecessors, making it ideal for capturing detailed images. This is important to me because I enjoy printing my work, and higher resolution allows for larger prints. With the M10R and M10 Monochrome, I already experienced the value of high resolution, especially when paired with my existing Leica M lenses.
