There’s probably like 30 solid photos right there.

I don’t like keeping secrets with you guys because I want to help you guys out as much as possible. So, that’s why in this episode, I’m gonna be sharing my secrets on how to create content and post consistently.
H2: Planning is Key
Every time I hop on a plane and go to explore a new country, I always feel so grateful. That being said, there’s only so many times a year where I can go out, so I want to make sure I make it count. Going into this trip to Iceland, I wanted to come out with as many long-form videos as possible without sacrificing on quality, as well as a bunch of short-form content and photos to post. So, my process for a trip like Iceland is to spend a whole bunch of time and energy planning.
H3: Ideation
The first step in planning is ideation. Basically, the week before the trip to Iceland, I spend a whole bunch of time coming up with ideas and scripting them out. I came up with the idea of doing a video about what’s in my travel camera bag, as the gear I’m taking on this trip is a lot different than on previous trips. I also thought of doing a tutorial on how to set up your camera to be a hybrid shooter, as I’m constantly changing things up during a trip. These were the starting points for my videos.
H3: Equipment and Editing
Knowing the gear I wanted to use, like the Fujifilm X100V and the Sony a7s3, helped me plan the types of videos I could create. I knew I wanted to talk about my camera bag and the different shooting techniques I used. I also planned to do editing breakdowns of the photos I took with each camera. By planning the equipment and editing process, I could create specific videos.
H3: Filming Process
The key to maximizing content from one trip is knowing which videos you can film beforehand and on location. I filmed the “What’s in My Travel Camera Bag” video beforehand in my office and linked it with footage from the trip. I also planned to film one video while I was in Iceland and take photos with the camera, which I could then edit and talk about in separate videos. By spreading out the filming process, I was able to capture different aspects of the trip.
H3: Scripting and Shot Lists
Once I had my ideas chosen, I started writing scripts for each video. This included talking points and shot lists to ensure I captured all the necessary footage. Having a script and shot list helped me stay focused while filming and prevented me from overdoing it. It also ensured I had everything I needed when I returned home to edit the long-form videos.
H3: Repurposing Content
The final step in my planning process is figuring out how to repurpose my content. Based on the long-form videos I create, I come up with ideas for short-form content. This allows me to maximize the reach and engagement of my content across different platforms. By repurposing, I can create more content from the same trip.
By following this planning process, I was able to create and post content consistently from my Iceland trip. It’s all about maximizing your potential and being intentional with your content creation. So, whether you’re going on a trip or starting a new project, take the time to plan it out and create content that resonates with your audience.
