I’m here today to give you my definitive video review of the Fujinon XF 23mm. This is an RLMWR lens that many of you requested I take a look at because of its ability to keep up with the 40 megapixel resolution point on Fuji’s recent bodies. After spending some time with it, I must say that this lens is fantastically sharp and one of the best performers on the demanding new 40 megapixel sensor.
The Fujinon XF 23mm combines compact size with excellent optics, autofocus, and build quality. However, it comes with a higher price tag of around $900, making it more expensive than other existing alternatives. The rumored release of the Sigma 23mm F 1.4 in an X Mount may offer some competition, but for now, this lens stands out for its high performance.
The Build and Handling
Let’s start by talking about the build and handling of the Fujinon XF 23mm F1.4 R LM WR. The “R” in the name refers to the aperture ring, which is a clicked aperture with one-third stop increments.
