FujiFilm X-Pro3 Hands-On: I’m Convinced.

Are you in the market for a new camera that combines traditional aesthetics with cutting-edge technology? Look no further than the FujiFilm X-Pro3. As a photography enthusiast, I’ve been searching for a camera that not only delivers exceptional image quality, but also offers a unique shooting experience. After getting my hands on the FujiFilm X-Pro3, I can confidently say that I’m convinced this camera is the perfect blend of form and function. In this hands-on review, I’ll share my first impressions of the X-Pro3 and why I believe it’s a game-changer for photographers. From its retro design to its innovative features, this camera has won me over.

FujiFilm X-Pro3 Hands-On: I’m Convinced

Sometimes all it takes is a single shot the first hour or two you have a camera or lens in hand to know know precisely why it speaks to your eye your heart your head and your soul. I had the opportunity to shoot with the FujiFilm X-Pro3 over two days last week during New York’s Photo Plus Expo and I’m here to tell you, I’m convinced.

A Great Evolution

First, it’s an evolution of the X-Pro2 which I reviewed just over a year ago. Instead of recounting all the goodness inherited from that camera, let me simply encourage you to watch that video if you’re not already familiar with the X-Pro line. The X-Pro3 inherits its sensor and processor from the XT3, a camera that I have previously reviewed, and shares the compact, lightweight rangefinder-styled body and extensive, dedicated high-quality aps-c lens line of FujiFilm’s latest ILC aps-c cameras.

Differences That Matter

Second, there are exactly three differences that matter if you’re like me. The rear screen, improved EVF, and autofocus are significant improvements over the X-Pro2.

Shared Characteristics

Third, the compact, lightweight rangefinder styled body and a dedicated high-quality aps-c lens line are two shared characteristics between the X-Pro2 and X-Pro3 that matter to me.

Undercuts the Price

The X-Pro3 most closely aligns with and dramatically undercuts the price of two of my favorite cameras of all time, the CL and the M10D2. For those who understand and appreciate the appeal of the X-Pro2 or the CL or M10D2, the X-Pro3 is a compelling piece of kit and a worthwhile upgrade.

Limitations as a Strength

For those who want an optical viewfinder experience, who prioritize size and weight above most other things, or who appreciate limitations as essential to creativity, the X-Pro3 fits the bill. It may even be a real alternative to Leica for those who cannot or choose not to pony up the dollars for one.

Superior Street Photography Tool

The X-Pro3 allowed me to capture a decisive moment framed the way I wanted it, all in a package so light that I went all day long without really even feeling it on my shoulder. The flip-down rear screen and improved autofocus make it more usable and accessible for more people, making it a superior street photography tool to many other cameras out there.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, the FujiFilm X-Pro3 is a compelling and revolutionary piece of camera equipment that is well-worth the investment for those who appreciate its unique qualities and features. It provides a level of convenience, functionality, and image quality that is unmatched by many other cameras in its class and price range. If street photography, compact size, and exceptional image quality are your top priorities then look no further than the FujiFilm X-Pro3. It is a camera that is sure to impress even the most discerning photographers.
