COMICA VIMO C Wireless Microphone – Budget DJI Mic?
What’s up everyone, Vu of Envo Films here, and I am back with another YouTube video. Today, I’m going to be talking about the new Comica VIMO C3 wireless microphone. They sent me this to review and make a video at launch. I must admit, I’m a bit late to the party as I missed a memo in my email. Nevertheless, let’s dive into it.
The DJI Mic Problem
Before we jump into the Comica VIMO C, let’s talk about the DJI mic. Currently, I am using the DJI mic, which is $200 more expensive than the Comica VIMO C system. However, I have noticed that the DJI mic has some interference sound on certain cameras, such as the Sony FX3 and possibly the A7S3. It’s disappointing that a well-known brand like DJI can produce a mic system with such issues. The cable that comes with the DJI mic is also subpar, even the replacement cable. Fortunately, the cable that came with the Comica VIMO C makes the DJI mic sound much better. It seems that Comica, specializing in audio gear, knows what they are doing.

Now, let’s switch gears and focus on the Comica VIMO C. As a self-proclaimed audio expert for this YouTube video, I can confidently say that the audio from the Comica VIMO C sounds fine. While it may not be suitable for high-quality movies, it works perfectly for quick videos or even corporate shoots. The mic system is compact and portable, making it convenient to carry around with your Sony FX3 or A7S3. In fact, it even comes with a nifty case to store all the cables and accessories.
Testing the Comica VIMO C
Now, let’s do a quick distance test. I’ll walk back and see if you can still hear me. I’ll keep going until I’m about 20-30 feet away. Can you hear me now? I’ll walk back to see if it still works when I turn around. You should hear me again once I’m back. Great, the audio seems to work well even from a distance.
Limitations of the Comica VIMO C
I just realized that the Comica VIMO C does not have a 3.5mm jack on the transmitter, which means you cannot plug in an external microphone. This could be a drawback for those who want to use a shotgun mic or any other external mic. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to test this feature as I didn’t have the proper equipment on hand. However, if you’re looking for a budget wireless microphone system that gets the job done, the Comica VIMO C is worth considering.
