[vc_row][vc_column][vc_custom_heading text=”Big Canon R5 Firmware Update – You Need to Watch This!” font_container=”tag:h2|text_align:center”][/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text]We’ve got an update on the Canon EOS R5 firmware update that’s supposed to be coming out before the end of 2023 but in sobering news has Canon given up on that big firmer update well stick around after this short break for all the details as you’re not going to want to Miss this update but first subscribe to this channel for a chance to win a Canon EOS R5 I’ll be giving one away to one lucky subscriber once this channel reaches 100 000 subscribers anyone above the age of 18 with a valid mailing address is eligible additional terms and Conditions are linked in the description down below well let’s get right to it in this morning’s story from Canon rumors Canon rimmer says that there was a bunch of reports in regards to new firmware updates coming in Q3 for the Canon EOS R5 that would add a slurry of features Sadly that timeline doesn’t look like it’s going to come to fruition I’m sorry if this is ruining your day but according to Canon rumors the big firmer update that we’re supposed to get before the end of 2023 isn’t going to happen we’re not going to get a big Firmer update and if you’ll recall back in March and April that big firmer update was supposed to include many things including pre-buffer shooting focused breeding compensation many improvements to the autofocus system autofocus tracking subject detection from vehicles to well more animals so you can lock onto their pretty little Faces and snap your shots away and of course for video Shooters there was that well elimination or removal of that 30 minute record limit and I can just hear the thoughts right now one gentleman was just telling me the other day that he doesn’t believe it he see he thinks that All these rumored specifications for a big firmer update are more plausible that they’re actually capabilities that we’re going to find in the Canon EOS R5 Mark II the successor to the Canon EOS R5 a camera that’s due to be announced and released sometime in early 2024 at Around the three and a half to four year mark yeah a little bit of a letdown a little bit of a kick in the teeth it’s a little bit frustrating I get that but we are supposed to be getting a firmer update before the end of 2023 in Q3 which is on Our doorstep or Q4 well we don’t know at this point just that it’s going to be some time in 2023 and Canon rumors backs this up we’ve been told that any further firmer updates for the Canon EOS R5 Mark 1 will come out later in 2023 but that It won’t be any major feature update there are still a few things that Canon will add in terms of capabilities and enhancements but you need to temper your expectations yep and how many times have we been told since we got that well rumor of a big firmer update coming for The Canon EOS R5 here in 2023 many of you have said you know what I don’t believe it I don’t think it’s going to come this is frustrating I’m tired and if you recall when we got firmer 1.8.1 skipping 1.8.0 where we got pixel shift the feedback from that was talking to Canon to even me the amount of people that were upset over this feature update when there was no documentation saying that they were going to do it that they were going to deliver these capabilities and the feedback was absolutely incredible and so maybe that’s why we’re being told to temper our expectations Temporary expectations and what we see in a future firmer update what could we get in terms of capabilities could we get that 30 minute record limit lifted and I’ve said this many times myself that I don’t believe that that 30 minute record limit is going to be lifted in a firmware update I would love to see it but I just I how many times have I told you I just don’t get that feeling Canon has removed that 30 minute that arbitrary 30 minute record limit in cameras such as the Canon EOS R3 and the successors to the R6 the R6 Mark II and many other cameras but by releasing a new camera not providing a firmer update in fact Canon hasn’t released a single firmware update for any of their mirrorless cameras that does address that 30 minute record limit but other capabilities such as pre-buffer shooting I could see that in The R5 Mark II and breathing compensation again I could see that in the R5 Mark II but updates and improvements to the autofocus system well I think that makes an awful lot of sense when you consider the competition keeping the autofocus system right there keeping it as one of the best right up There with Sony where you can just point your camera and more or less it’s going to get it right most of the time so expanding the ability to be able to cover more subjects more objects um to be able to do face detection for not just birds and Dogs and cats but other animals I can definitely see Canon doing that making the autofocus system better improving upon it but in terms of a big feature update if we’re not getting it this year I really can’t see Canon giving it to us next year why release a big firmer Update with lots of enhancements capabilities to a three and a half year old camera when very well Canon could just simply say hey you know what let’s just go ahead and release the EOS R5 Mark II and that seems far more plausible and what I think is going on Right here is that Canon is in a very busy development cycle Summer’s over now we’re getting back to the fall semester I like to call it the fall semester it’s basically from September right the way to the beginning of December everyone’s going to be working very hard on getting The next cameras out and Polished and next cameras you know what I’m talking about the EOS R5 Mark II the cam Canon EOS R1 as well as a whole slew of lenses to well be released along with those cameras Canon has also well I would say Canon has said but Canon rumors has said that Canon is also planning on releasing a bunch of RF lenses and well I think eight to ten lenses as well as some RFS lenses over the next couple of months and if you’ll recall in a previous video I said it was going to happen by the end of this month well Canada rumors did make a correction saying that yeah it’s not going to be the end of this month but it should be by the end of September or going into October so Canon has a lot To work on and I just can’t imagine that a high priority will be given to a big firmer update as we move into releasing new cameras which is going to provide them with a lot more income whereas a big firmware update for the R5 not so Much so the R5 Mark II the R1 a whole bunch of lenses eight to ten of them yep I think it’s safe to say that at this point a big firmer update for the Canon EOS R5 uh we can call that rumor busted and if You want to see up to date on all the latest news and rumors regarding the Canon EOS R5 the R I was going to say the R6 the R1 or even Sony cameras I just did a live stream covering the Sony a7c2 the a7cr and the 16 to 35 Millimeter F 2.8 gm2 thank you so much for everybody participating thank you so much to John ishee stop the fomo and James Jackson films…[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
