ART STORE Photo Challenge

Some of our favorite shoots to do are those that rely on utilizing props that we find in non-photography related stores. Today, Rachel and Jay are heading to an art supply store for a photo challenge. They will each pick one prop to hold in front of their lens and one prop to use with their model.

Choosing the Props

After browsing through the art store, Jay decides to go for a clear PVC prop that he can shoot through. Opening up the lens gives a dreamy look and the prop reflects the light, adding a unique touch to the photos. He also picks up a crop prop, ready to experiment with some interesting shots.

Rachel, on the other hand, chooses a rainbow twirler to hold in front of her lens. This prop will reflect light and add depth to the photos. Additionally, she grabs a dunce cap, which she plans to use creatively during the shoot.

Thanks to Canon for Sponsoring

This video and all the photos taken in it have been shot using Canon’s new EOS R mirrorless camera system. With a 30.3 megapixel full-frame sensor and dual pixel autofocus, this camera is perfect for both stills and videos. It shoots 4K videos with Canon log, allowing for amazing shots at 60 frames per second in 1080p. The kit also includes a versatile 24-105mm f/4 lens with optical image stabilization for smoother footage.

The art supply store segment was shot handheld using the 24-105mm lens. Additionally, with the included EF mount adapter, users can still utilize all their existing EF lenses.

For added protection, Canon offers the Care Pack Plus program, which covers accidental damage such as drops, spills, and power surges. It also includes camera maintenance and sensor cleanings for the camera and lenses.
