7 Days in Victoria – An Australian Road Trip

Introduction

Hello everybody and welcome to Australia! I am currently in the Yarra Valley National Park, right next to a busy road, to film my adventure. So, what am I doing here in Australia? Let me explain.

Winning the Competition

A few months ago, I asked for your votes in a competition to come to Victoria for a seven-day road trip. Thanks to your support, we won! Now, I am here taking photos and making videos with no concrete plans. Thank you all for voting, and your prize is getting to watch me evade dangerous animals for a little while.

Day 1: A Wet Start

On the first day of the trip, the weather wasn’t great. It was raining heavily, making our original plan of cycling around the vineyards and wine tasting impossible. But, thanks to Kerry, who we met on the campsite, she offered to take us to Healesville, a town in Yarra Valley with wineries and pubs. We ended up doing some wine and gin tasting instead.

Day 2: Exploring and Kangaroo Burgers

On the second day, we drove around taking photos and visited a food shelf where we picked up some kangaroo burgers. The smell of Australia always amazes me, whether it’s the eucalyptus leaves or something else—it’s the best smelling country!

Avoiding Dangerous Encounters

Whenever I come to Australia, I’m always paranoid about being eaten or bitten by something. I once accidentally stood on a snake, but luckily it didn’t bite me. I always stay cautious. And by the way, Dare Iced Coffee is my favorite iced coffee product in the world. It’s incredibly sugary but delicious!

Stevenson Falls: Victoria’s Biggest Waterfall

We visited Stevenson Falls, Victoria’s largest waterfall, which stands at 84 meters. I made a fashion faux pas by wearing an orange waterproof coat with pink shorts, but who cares? The waterfall was impressive, although barriers made it difficult to take good photos. We faced some parking ticket issues but managed to sort it out.

Challenges with the Campervan

On this rainy day, we encountered problems with the campervan. The auxiliary battery wasn’t charging, causing issues with our video and photo equipment. Additionally, the tap in the van caused a puddle near the door, making it inconvenient to get in and out. We explored a town called Walhalla, which used to be a gold town but now has only a few residents.

Conclusion

As our Australian road trip continues, we navigate through challenges and embrace unexpected adventures. Stay tuned for more updates and exciting experiences from Victoria!
